Grant Holloway Dominates U.S. Track and Field Trials with Historic 110m Hurdles Victory

Posted by: Watch Athletics

Day 8 of the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials saw Grant Holloway dominate the 110m hurdles with a blistering 12.86 seconds, reaffirming his prowess after a silver in Tokyo 2020. His performance led Freddie Crittenden (12.93) and Daniel Roberts (12.96) to also break the sub-13 second barrier, marking the first time three athletes achieved this in a single race.

All three are now poised for Team USA at the Paris 2024 Olympics—Holloway and Roberts returning, and Crittenden making his debut. Crittenden, moved by impending fatherhood, reflected, "It means the world to me."

Holloway expressed determination, saying, "In four or five weeks, I want to be back in that race."

Christian Taylor, a two-time Olympic gold medalist in the triple jump, progressed through qualifying and is set to compete for a place in Sunday's final.

Also returning to the track this weekend is Lolo Jones, the 41-year-old hurdler, who finished last in her heat but advanced as no one was eliminated in the small preliminary field.
